MAPLE SYRUP
Maple Butter Tarts

Servings: 10 to 12 tarts
Ingredients:
- Baking Time: 15 to 20 minutes
- 1/4 cup (50 mL) butter, softened
- 1/4 cup (50 mL) firmly-packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) vanilla
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) Ontario Maple Syrup
- 10 to 12 unbaked tart shells
Preparation:
Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Blend in syrup. Pour into tart shells. Bake at 375 F (190 C) for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Maple Bran Muffins

Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup (175 mL) natural wheat bran
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) milk
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) Ontario Maple Syrup
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup (50 mL) vegetable oil
- 1-1/4 cup (325 mL) whole wheat flour
- 3 tsp (15 mL) baking powder
- 1/2 tsp (2mL) salt
- 1/3 cup (75 mL) chopped walnuts
